چکیده

The microstructure and mechanical properties of butt-joints produced by linear friction stir welding similar plates as-cast ZK60 modified with 1.5 wt.% RE (ZK60–1.5RE) are investigated. thermomechanical affected zone is investigated in both advancing retrieving sides, the compared to base metal stirred zone. Electron backscattered diffraction measurements provide average microstructural features transformed microstructure. assessed using hardness, tensile testing, surface residual stress measured X-ray diffraction. Higher torque heat input obtained for ZK60–1.5RE ZK60. notably larger ZK60–1.5RE. A gradient formed zones where deformed grains progressively more recrystallised towards There no visible interface between fine partially side has a slightly refined other zones. Anisotropy increment maximum intensity (0001) increases correlated role twinning, recovery, static, dynamic recrystallisation that can occur during welding. Twinning large misorientation spread pronounced regions metal. Sharp low angle grain boundaries observed From decorating zone, mosaic-like high joints have comparable stresses. improved ductility strength alloy since samples fractured BM.

Effect of friction stir welding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar AA2024-AA6061 joints

In the present study, to resolve the problems in fusion welding methods as well as to increase the strength, FSW method was used to join aluminum alloy sheets 6061 and 2024. Moreover, optimal parameters for joining of these two alloys were also taken into consideration. Various tool rotation speeds of 565, 950 and 1500 rpm were selected. For each tool rotation speed, two traverse speed variable...

Effect of Heat Input on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties in Friction Stir Welding of HSLA-60

High-strength low alloy steels are a class of steels used in applications that require high strength and good weldability, including ship hulls, gas pipelines and oil industry. One way to build parts is fusion welding that create areas with a large grain size in the heat-affected zone and increased susceptibility to hydrogen cracking. One way to solve this problem is to use solid state friction...

Effect of tool position on microstructural and mechanical properties of friction stir butt welded joint of AA2024–AA7075 dissimilar alloys

In this research, butt joining of Al2024 and Al7075 plates were performed by Friction Stir Welding (FSW) and the effect of tool position on microstructural and mechanical properties in about 1 mm from center line of joint towards the advancing side (AS) and the retreating side (RS) was investigated at three positions of +1, 0, -1 mm. In this regard, the plates of Al2024 and Al7075 were selected...
